Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 12
Pale, bright lemon-yellow. Pure, high-pitched aromas of lemon verbena, honey and spices. Fat, sweet and generous, showing a saline complexity to its ripe pear and rocky calcaire flavors. Conveys an almost glyceral density that's rare for the vintage and finishes strong, sweet and long. Lamy says this wine is always hard to taste in its first 12 months and that it gains complexity and length with its last months of elevage. But I've got no complaints today.
